Prised Open
breathed life into the Shipwright's Palace
8.20pm 19-25 September 2002

Inspired by Joseph Conrad's novel - Heart of Darkness, The House was a site specific project incorporating movement, sound, sculpture and film.

Standing on the banks of the river Thames the rich history of this 18th Century house can be palpably felt.

Locally known as the Shipwright's Palace, The House provided a unique opportunity to experience this building in a state of historical transition, animating it before extensive renovation began a new phase of its life.
